My Current 2018 Highlight Reel – CS:GO on a Controller, ESEA Rank B (Inconsistent Volume Warning!)

Hey guys, decided to finally get around to putting together most of my highlight clips for CS:GO since the start of 2018, for a few reasons.

A) My Shadow Play folder for CS:GO is way too big at this point, 1,000+ clips strong, 350GB + deep. Gonna be nice to clear some of the stuff.

B) Finally hit my “dream” rank on CS:GO, and doubt I’ll improve any more. I ended up being one win away from Rank B+, and got matched against a few Rank G, and One Rank S player in a few PUGs now.

I got fucking embarrassed. Out played and out aimed in every regard. I know I’ll never be able to get better than this, so, finally happy being at an “above average” rank. If I get any better, that’d be nice, but, I doubt I will.

C) I get asked a lot how I can even play with a controller, so thought what better way to answer the question, than by just showing people. (Answer, a lot of AWPing, and aggressive play. Hardly ever take legit aim-duels, because I know I’ll lose them).

D) This was the last day to buy VEGAS from Humble Bundle for $20, so, that, along with having a day off work, and getting a temporary 3 day ban from ESEA*, I figured why not try learning a new editing tool, since I wanna try and get into video editing again.

(*long story short, player on enemy team pointed out that saying “KYS” is censored, and you get a message saying “Hate speech and racism is not allowed.”, so, outta curiosity, I tried it. Lol, kept typing in chat various versions of “KYS” to see what’s censored. Fun Fact, “Kill yourself”, “Kill your self”, “KillYourSelf” etc, are not censored or blocked. Just “KYS” haha. An Admin came in and watched me type it, got banned. haha, broke the rules, it’s a short ban, I’m just laughing it off.

So, enjoy I guess. Quality of the video isn’t the best, since it’s my first time trying to learn how to Render with VEGAS, and after various settings failing on me, I decided to just use a basic setting. Audio is a little inconsistent, because I had ShadowPlay using my WebCam mic for the first 2 months of the year, instead of my stand-alone microphone. This was also my first time using this software, so I really didn’t want to do anymore than just clip and trim and basic transition, especially with how long the video is. Doubt anyone will actually watch the full thing either, so, assume most will just skip around, so, basic work.

Just a few basic answers to things I’m probably gonna get asked –

1) Almost all the clips are from ESEA PUGs around Rank C+ – B+. Here’s my ESEA if anyone want to verify or check my stats, or download any of my VODs.

2) Yes, I actually play on a controller, if the movements, aiming, and the constant “clacks” you hear from it aren’t enough.

Here’s a clip with the controller visible.

3) No, I’m not trolling, I play on a controller because I find it more comfortable. Been playing console since I was like 5, been playing Counter-Strike as my main game since I was 18. I started late, and just can’t play well on a Keyboard and Mouse. I just don’t find it comfortable. I play worse with it, and don’t want to learn how to play on it, because I still prefer to play video games on Consoles. Other than CS:GO, I don’t like to PC game.

My FaceIt stats are all with keyboard and mouse, because you can’t play on FaceIt with a controller. So, you can compare how much worse I play with a mouse lol.

4) I know I could be better if I played on a keyboard and mouse, if I put the effort to learn it.I play CS:GO for fun, I understand I’ll never be good at the game, or go pro, or even play and do well in Leagues. I just play, because I like competitive matches, and it’s fun to pit my skill against other players. I like the team based aspects, and how serious the game is. I play the game for fun primarily, and improve secondly. I improve slowly by playing, and I just enjoy that.

5) I know I suck at the game. I don’t claim to be good, I’m just happy to be average, or slightly above average.
