34 Valorant and CSGO Pros INVESTIGATED, 5 Year Bans for Two

The ESIC has announced 5 year bans for several CSGO players, and investigations into 34 other current Valorant and CSGO pros for match-fixing.

The Match-fixing scandal that has plagued CSGO has spilled over into Valorant, as many of the alleged match fixers have swapped games in recent years. So when the ESIC announced a new series of 5 year bans being handed out, and said that 34 other Valorant and CSGO pros could meet a similar fate in ongoing investigations, the implications were huge for several Valorant orgs.

While the ESIC didn’t name names yet for the 34 other pros being investigated, many rumored match-fixers made the jump to Valorant this year, and have even competed in major VCT events. If the ESIC hands down similar, 5 year bans for those pros, it would cause a massive shake up in several Valorant orgs who would have to scramble to assemble new rosters in time for the next VCT Challengers stage.

5 year bans are basically career ending, so if any Valorant or CSGO pro caught up in this investigation has to be swatting bullets. But until ESIC releases their next batch of bans in the upcoming months, several orgs competing in the VCT are going to be very, very nervous.
